The power to truly listen to that which wants to come through you can be a tough thing to accomplish. Life happens, distractions occur but finding a quiet spot to sit and let your mind wander works wonders…. When words find you in that space where your mind fades, magic happens. Sometimes we just need to get out of our own way.

Summer haze
The fog has lifted and so has the heat… I have been in a different world the past few months, not really but it felt that way… Hope to get back on that blogging wagon and catch up with all my fellow fav bloggers..

Just going with the flow, I let the watercolor paint form and take shape on paper until I found the image, The idea for a haunting formed during the process. – watercolor, pen on Canson 140lb paper

Without a plan, I just let the paint take form on paper and this image came forth, as the words “my mind is full” swirled in my head..

Life in abstract
Every so often I like to change things up and create abstract art. I like the freedom and exploration of the process. The past few weeks I have been working on two mixed media paintings simultaneously. Working on these paintings felt like a tug of war, a love hate relationship, a labor of love with lots of juicy layers.

The saying I read once “Find Your Tribe” has always stuck with me. I was lucky to meet and become friends with a great group of creative woman. Over the years we have grown to inspire each other, encourage and give support.
The past two years we have gathered our tribe for weekly art nights at a friends studio. This past Wednesday was our last night creating in this studio, because the building was sold.
Hopefully we will continue our art making in a new location… So whatever journey you are on now find your gang, your peeps or a friend that makes it that much better…
